Midland Steel Reinforcement Supplies Ltd and Midland Steel Reinforcement Supplies GB Ltd (Midland Steel) makes the transition from PAS 1192-2 certification to ISO 19650 certification.

Midland Steel is pleased to announce that, following a recent audit by BSI (British Standards Institution), our BIM (Building Information Modelling) managements systems and capabilities have been certified to the new BS EN ISO 19650 standard. ISO 19650 is an internationally recognized set of standards that define the business processes for the effective management and collaborative production of information when using BIM.
Updating our digital technology skills is a continuous journey. We have made significant progress in digital detailing in recent years. The Mountmellick and Thamesport offices were initially awarded BIM Level 2 Business Systems Certification by BSI in January 2017. By meeting our accreditation objectives, allows us to compete and deliver in very competitive markets across varied project portfolios. This ensures Midland Steel have the technical capability and capacity to supply any reinforced concrete project, regardless of complexity or size.
The value proposition of adopting “BIM according to ISO 19650” is the same as the proposition for BIM Level 2. It contains all the same principles and high-level requirements as the BIM Level 2 standards and is closely aligned with British Standard BS 1192 which it replaces.
It is important for Midland Steel to have our business systems certified to the most up to date standards, in recognition of our ability to deliver projects in a BIM environment. This enables the supply chain and construction / project teams to increase predictability around cost and time, through a common approach to the management of information.
For existing and prospective clients in Ireland, the UK and internationally it demonstrates a commitment by Midland Steel to deliver in accordance with the latest best practice internationally recognized standards. Thus, ensuring our customers that they are working with a Company operating at the highest possible standards, collaboratively reducing delays and costs.
