Retaining wall reinforcement is typically one of the more labour and time-intensive elements of a groundworks programme, with steel fixed bar by bar and measurements and alterations to be made to each bar over multiple weeks. For this project in Athlone, our valued client Triur Construction needed a faster, safer alternative that didn't compromise on quality or programme certainty.

Midland Steel manufactured and installed the retaining wall reinforcement at out SMART factory, using Trimble based BIM modelling to ensure a precise fit before any modules left the factory. The pre-assembled sections were then delivered to site and lifted directly into position by crane. From the first lift to base mesh tied in, the full 47 metre run was installed in just a day and a half - a fraction of the time a traditional loose bar approach would typically require.
