Technical Inside Sales Specialist

Role Overview

Midland Steel is an innovative and progressive steel reinforcement manufacturer, supplier, and specialist contractor, with established operations in Ireland and the UK and a growing presence across Europe, the USA, and other international markets.

Role Responsibilities:

• • Conduct outbound sales calls and coordinate email campaigns to introduce customers to Midland Steel products, develop an understanding of customer requirements, and achieve sales targets.

• Proactively engage contractors, builders, and industry customers through outbound calls and targeted email campaigns, converting opportunities into long-term business relationships.
• Build and maintain collaborative relationships with strategic customers by understanding their business objectives and project requirements.
• Collaborate with the field-based sales team to ensure consistent market messaging and customer engagement.
• Support delivery of the sales strategy by identifying and pursuing opportunities to increase awareness of Midland Steel products and services.
• Provide regular reporting with accurate updates on sales activity, customer feedback, and market insights.
• Monitor construction industry trends and identify opportunities for business growth.
• Prepare and deliver professional presentations and sales proposals that clearly communicate Midland Steel’s value proposition.

Job Requirements (including qualifications & experience)

• Experience in telesales, internal sales, or B2B sales, ideally within the construction, building materials, or related sectors.
• Good understanding of the construction supply chain, contractors, and trade customers.
• Proactive, target-driven mindset with the ability to build strong customer relationships and close sales.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Willingness to participate in structured on-the-job training and coaching.
• Based in, or willing to reliably commute to or relocate to Portlaoise, Co. Laois before starting.
